 Launching of the Capacity Building Program for (SMART)

On Sunday the 12th of June 2016, His Excellency the President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Dr. Hashim Yamani and  Vice President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable His Excellency Dr. Walid Abulfaraj launched part of  K.A.CARE's human capacity building program (SMART).

The small nuclear reactors compact (SMART) represents one of K.A.CARE' initiatives within the National Transformation Program 2020, which aims to localize the Technology of (SMART) in Saudi Arabia and  invest in this technology through building strong local infrastructures that supports electricity production and water desalination as well as exported and marketed externally.

The program comes in partnership with the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute to train more than 30 Saudi engineer in a program that runs for three years, starting with training and then participate in the preparation of engineering designs for reactor SMART.
