The Kingdom participates in Expo 2017G opened in the Kazakhstani capital, Astana under the title "Future Energy" through a pavilion supervised by King Abdullah City for Atomic & Renewable Energy K.A.CARE in cooperation with a group of government agencies and companies from the private sector which are related to Energy fields, the pavilion continues for 3 months.
HE the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of K.A.CARE, En. Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Faleh, opened today the Kingdom's pavilion in presence of the Russian Energy Minister, Alexander Nuwak, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the National Company to hosting Expo-2017 Exhibition Airpul Shormanouf, the Kingdom's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Dr. Thaher Al-Anazi and the Executive Chief of Operations Sector in K.A.CARE, the Kingdom's Commissioner at Expo Astana 2017, Engineer Ahmad Al Sadhan and a group of chairman of boards of Saudi energy companies.
HE the Minister of Energy, engineer Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Faleh expressed his happiness with the participation of the Kingdom in this important global event which is attended by 115 countries, confirming that the Kingdom's participation in the exhibition stems out from its leading position in the field of energy at the global level and reflects its future orientation towards the development and use of sustainable energy, in light of the Kingdom's vision 2030 and its executive programs including the National Transformation Program 2020, , it also aims to exchange experiences, knowledge and strengthen relations in the field of energy, within a global frame, as well as the promotion of bilateral relations linking the two brotherly countries, the Kingdom and Kazakhstan.
H.E. clarified that the Kingdom's participation in the Exhibition comes to highlight the ambitious development plans and projects launched in the Kingdom in energy fields, which aim at diversifying the energy mix and achieving sustainability.
It is noteworthy to mention that the Kingdom is currently seeking, within the framework of the Kingdom's vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020, to promote and accelerate diversification of energy resources, and bring all components of this industry into the country enhancing its leading position on the global energy map, building on the many competitive advantages that make it possible to enable investments in the energy fields for local and international investors.
In this context, renewable energy programs in the Kingdom aim to produce 3.5 Gigawatts of electricity by using renewable energy resources by year 2020G so that it raises to 9.5 Gigawatt by 2023G in line with, the National Transformation Program initiatives 2020G and the goals of the Kingdom's vision 2030G in addition to launching a program to incorporate atomic energy in the energy mix in the Kingdom and doubling the Kingdom's production of gas during the few coming years to achieve the optimal energy mix in the Kingdom which enhances its capabilities to meet its local needs, and establish its position as a reliable supplier in the energy world, conserves the sustainability of energy sources and enhances the Kingdom's efforts to conserve the environment.
