In the presence of the President of King Abdullah City for Atomic and renewable Energy a memorandum of understanding and joint cooperation was signed with City Cement Company about studying the possibility of using renewable energy and related scientific research in sites belonging to City Cement Company. This agreement comes within the framework of K.A.CARE efforts to participate in diversifying energy resources through the use of sophisticated techniques of alternative energy that could achieve sustainability through industrial partnerships and technical development. Considering K.A.CARE interest in cooperation and partnerships with other sectors and governmental authorities, as well as the private sector in the implementation of applied software and industrial development and the transfer and localization of technology in the scope of energy, and K.A.CARE and the company desire to strengthening the scopes and frameworks of cooperation between both of them for the purpose of developing solutions that meet the company's need of electricity and heat using the renewable energy system and creating a replicable pattern that could be used in cement factories throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Head of Renewable Energy Sector and the Head of Sustainable Grid Integration Department Dr. Fahad Saad Abu-Mouti from K.A.CARE and the Executive Chief of City Cement Company Mr. Saleh Ibrahim Al Shabnan signed this agreement.
The signing ceremony was attended by the President of K.A.CARE Dr. Hashem Abdullah Yamani and the Vice President Dr. Waleed Hussain AbulFaraj and a number of officials from both sides. Signing ceremony took place on Wednesday the 25th of Sha'ban, 1437H.
